Patrick O'Laoghaire aka I Have A Tribe has been tipped as "this year's Hozier". He played on the breaking live stage in HMV in Dublin today in the latest of our RTÉ Ten/First Music Contact gigs and if you missed it, you can watch again now.

O'Laoghaire has already recorded a debut EP, Yellow Raincoats, with Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey, Anna Calvi) and Conor O’Brien of Villagers. He's also toured Europe with Calvi, opened for Villagers’ Irish homecoming show, and performed at The Great Escape, Electric Picnic and CMJ in New York.

We're talking folk-tinged melancholia here folks. As O’Laoghaire says himself, a tour with Irish band Slow Skies has given him the confidence to strike out on his own. “It started when I got more brave," he says. "I just wanted to see if I could make something real using the colours that were in my head.”
