Henry Cavill's The Man from UNCLE movie has had its release date postponed for seven months by Warner Bros.

The spy thriller sees Man of Steel star Cavill play Napoleon Solo opposite Armie Hammer's Illya Kuryakin, has moved from its initial January 2015 slot to August.

Guy Ritchie will direct the film, which is based on the hit US TV show that ran for four seasons on NBC during the '60s.

Robert Vaughn and David McCallum starred as Solo and Kuryakin, who were operatives for the fictitious United Network Command for Law and Enforcement (ie: UNCLE).

The remake, which retains the Cold War '60s setting, features Hugh Grant, Alicia Vikander and Jared Harris in its supporting cast.
