One Direction's Niall Horan has added Novak Djokovic to his list of sporting friends, having taken to the court with the Wimbledon champion in Toronto.

The You and I singer had a practice game with the world number one ahead of the Rogers Cup in Toronto on Saturday.

Horan tweeted a picture of himself and Djokovic on the court with the caption: "Incredible experience! Got the opportunity to hit some balls with my bro @DjokerNole today! Thank you so much dude."

He also shared a changing room photo with his Instagram followers and thanked his fans for making it all possible.

He wrote: "I was terrible! But was an amazing experience to play with the number 1 tennis player in the world! Just incredible!

"Thank you to all of you guys, coz if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be able to do amazing stuff like that."

Audience members were quick to share pictures of the One Direction star on the court on Twitter.
