Veteran Dublin band The Blades are set to appear on Saturday Night with Miriam this Saturday to mark the 30th anniversary of the recording of their timeless album The Last Man in Europe.

The acclaimed Ringsend band, lead by Paul Cleary, reformed last year to play two reunion gigs in Dublin's Olympia Theatre and Cleary recently said that they could be about to record new material.

Speaking to the new edition of Shamrock Rovers fanzine And If Should Falter, he said: "I wouldn't mind having a crack at bringing out a new record, or maybe even just a single to start with."

Here they are performing Downmarket on RTÉ kids' show Anything Goes in 1983.
