Disney’s animated classic Dumbo is to be remade into a live-action film by the studio.

The script is being penned by Transformers franchise writer Ehren Kruger, and the adaptation of the much-loved 1941 film follows other recent successful live-action movies from Disney, including Maleficent and Alice in Wonderland.

The studio - at the forefront of film animation since it was founded by brothers Walt and Roy O Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio - also has live-action versions of Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast currently in the works.
