US actor Rob Lowe and his family were forced to evacuate their French holiday home in Grasse on Wednesday (June 25) when floods hit the region.
After the entire first floor became submerged under water, the family had to be rescued from the house by a local fireman.
The actor and his son Johnny took to social media to document the ordeal, with dad Rob posting a photo of the flooding on Instagram, captioning it, “This is is right outside the house. Was twice as high at the worst, just before sunrise.”
Johnny later tweeted, “Thank you to the fireman that saved us from this nightmare. Happy for us all to be safe, thoughts to others.”
The Grasse area endured the equivalent of three average months of rainfall in fewer than four hours.
