RTÉ Newscaster Aengus Mac Grianna is to get married this Sunday. He will have a humanist reception in Ballymacgarvey, Co. Meath, followed by a 'full marriage' ceremony in the UK.
He spoke to RTÉ TEN today about the upcoming celebrations, saying: "I am very excited and slightly nervous." Aengus (50) will marry partner of 10 ½ years, Terry Gill (40).
At a later stage he will fly out to the UK and get married legally in a "full marriage" ceremony. "This will be a much smaller ceremony, a more personal intimate one." The details of the UK marriage are to be kept a secret. Former colleague and close friend, Anne Doyle, will take the famous walk up the aisle with Aengus and give him away.
He further told RTE TENm that he had friends arriving from Germany, the UK and the US. "I've to clean my house and pack", he jokes, "so I think the nerves have yet to kick in."
We wish them a very happy marriage together!
