Benedict Cumberbatch has invited Dame Judi Dench to join him in his upcoming BBC adaptation of Richard III.

Dench was discussing Shakespeare's work at the Hay Festival last night (June 1) when the Sherlock star joined her on stage to perform some scenes from Shakespear's Twelfth Night.

They later they acted out a scene from Antony And Cleopatra. Afterwards Cumberbatch said to Dench, "Would you like to be in Richard III with me?" to which Dench replied with a simple, "Yeah".

During their performance of Twelfth Night, Dench joked with Cumberbatch, "You've not got a very big part I'm afraid Ben - I'm sorry." Cumberbatch then told the audience, "She's known me since I was a little boy."
