Channing Tatum is set to star in and produce a true crime thriller for Sony.
The untitled project, which is set in the late 1970s, is described as the inspiring true story of an ordinary family man who decides to risk everything to go undercover to take down the biggest mob boss in the country.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tatum will produce alongside his partner Reid Carolin and Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who produced the recent Academy Awards and the musical Chicago.
Kristen Gore will pen the script for the project.
Tatum can next be seen in 22 Jump Street, Jupiter Ascending and Foxcatcher.
In the autumn he will shoot the Magic Mike sequel, Magic Mike XXL, which he co-wrote and will produce with Carolin.
