Talented Mr. Ripley actor Jude Law is set to replace 12 Years a Slave star Michael Fassbender in Genius.

The 41-year-old star will be joining Colin Firth and Nicole Kidman in the movie, which is based on A. Scott Berg's biography of editor Max Perkins (Firth).

Hugo writer John Logan will take on scriptwriting duties, while theatre director Michael Grandage will make his feature film debut as the director of the movie. Tim Bevan will serve as executive producer.

In a statement released to Variety, Grandage and Bierman, said: “We are thrilled to have assembled such an extraordinary team around us as we move forward with this project, and we can’t wait to begin filming."

Filming is scheduled to take place in the U.K. and U.S in August 2014.
