X-Men producers have revealed that they would be interested in creating a spin-off movie about Jennifer Lawrence's character Mystique.
Producers Lauren Schuler Donner and Simon Kinberg have discussed the possibility of exploring characters in more detail through spin-off films, saying that film studio Fox would be open to embracing them.
Donner told Entertainment Weekly: "There was a regime [at the studio] that didn't see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we're going to do right by it.
"I'd like to do Gambit. I'd like to do Deadpool. We'll see. There's a lot of really great characters."
Kinberg added: "I love what Jen Lawrence has done with [Mystique], and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there's so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo."
X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to hit cinemas on May 22 with X-Men: Apocalypse scheduled for May 2016, and a Wolverine film slated for March 2017.
