A concert for children and families about The Battle of Clontarf and High King Brian Boru goes on a nationwide tour this April.

Clannad singer Moya Brennan and acclaimed harper Cormac De Barra star in Ten14 which premieres at The Ark, a cultural centre for children in Dublin, on April 19 and will be followed by an Irish tour to towns including Newbridge, Bray, Letterkenny, Ennis and Portlaoise.

Commemorating 1000 years since the Battle of Clontarf, Ten14 uses music and lyrics to evoke the adventures of Brian Boru, and his love of the harp.

As part of its ongoing focus on music, The Ark commissioned Brennan and de Barra to create a new concert for children and families.

The 1014 commemoration programme at The Ark is supported by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and Dublin-Unesco City of Literature. The Irish tour of Ten14 is presented with the support of an Arts Council Touring Award.
