Saoirse Ronan and Cynthia Nixon begin work this week on Stockholm, Pennsylvania, the film adaptation of director Nikole Beckwith's play of the same name.

Deadline.com says Ronan plays Leia, a young woman who spent 17 years with a kidnapper and is now struggling to bond with her real parents.

Nixon plays Ronan's character's mother, with David Warshofsky the father and Jason Isaacs the kidnapper.

The film marks Beckwith's feature directing debut.
