Mars mission applicant Joseph Roche, American TV presenter Jessie Pavelka, Chef Clare Smyth and magician Rua are amongst Brendan O'Connor's guests this Saturday night.

Roche is the Trinity College astrophysicist who has made the shortlist for a one-way expedition to Mars and he will talk to Brendan about about why he wants to go to the red planet, knowing he won’t be coming back.

American TV presenter and fitness expert Pavelka recently lost out on the role of Christian Grey in the big screen adaption of the book Fifty Shades of Grey to our very own Jamie Dornan, despite an online campaign by his many fans. He will be sharing his fitness and motivational tips with Brendan.

Also on the show is Antrim-born Clare Smyth, Chef Patron at the Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London. Clare is the only female chef in the UK to be awarded, and retain, three Michelin stars.

Brendan will also speak with Chris Gardner, American stockbroker, motivational speaker and author who, during the early 1980s, struggled with homelessness while raising his toddler son. Gardner's book of memoirs, The Pursuit of Happyness went on to become a movie starring Will Smith.

And “Rua” aka Paul Gleeson, magician and illusionist will discuss his unusual career and his new TG4 series Draíocht. Paul will also perform for the audience and see can he get a trick over on Brendan.

The Saturday Night Show airs on RTÉ One on Saturday at 10.05pm
