Sensitive singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran debuted a new song at the first of his three sold-out headline gigs in New York's Madison Square Gardens last night.

The 22-year-old singer didn't confirm the title of the track, but fans have speculated that is called "So In Love".

The singer called for what he called a "universal ssssshhhhhhhh" before he began the song which he said was about his experiences back stage at this year's Grammy Awards where he was unimpressed by the amount of "s***"" people were saying.

Sheeran has been touring North America for most of 2013 as the opening act for Taylor Swift's Red shows. His new album is due next year and it is the follow-up to his 2011 debut +, which hit number one in the UK charts and five on the US Billboard 200.
