Miley Cyrus’ new album Bangerz has hit the top of the Billboard 200 in her native USA after selling 270,000 copies in its first week of release.

Including her Hannah Montana days, this marks Cyrus’ fifth US number one since 2006 - and she’s only 20. Her last studio album, 2010’s Can't Be Tamed, peaked at number three and sold 102,000 copies in its first week.

Bangerz beat off opposition from Panic! at the Disco and Drake to nab the top spot. PATD's Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die debuted at number two with 84,000 copies sold - not even a third of Cyrus’s total.
