Irish X Factor hopeful Melanie McCabe has said she didn't want her homecoming filmed as part of the TV show after she was unsuccessful in making it to the live shows.

Speaking yesterday on the Colm Hayes show, where she was joined by X Factor judge Louis Walsh, she explained that she didn't want to be filmed to which Walsh said "I understand that, I totally get that."

Speaking afterwards to RTÉ TEN, she said: "I didn't do it because I was trying to get back at X was more like I just said 'I've given a lot in my time with The X Factor.

The 20-year-old singer, who was in Nicole Scherzinger's Girls Group, added: "I thought I was going through and I didn't go through and I said 'You know what, I've had enough now and I don't want anymore filming and I just want to go home.'

"Obviously I had another flight then, we had to come all the way back from Antigua and then I'd to get another flight to Dublin. I was tired and I was emotional and I just said I really don't want to do any more filming now. I'm done with it now."
