The bespoke, three-carriage RTÉ Big Music Week Train, with the Big Music Week House Band on board, set off on a very special one-week journey this morning.
Departing from Bray, Co Wicklow and making its way through Wicklow, Dublin, Kildare, Carlow, Waterford, Tipperary, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Galway, Mayo, Leitrim and Roscommon, the train will be stopping off in train stations and towns across the country for impromptu busking sessions, live benefit concerts, musical workshops, parades and plenty of live radio broadcasts.
Some of our finest artists, such as Kodaline, Christy Moore and Luka Bloom, will be jamming in stations, busking onboard and marching down main streets.
To keep up-to-the minute with all of the happenings on the train, keep your eyes peeled on www.rte.ie/ten for video updates. You can also find out what's happening for RTÉ Big Music Week each day by following the hashtag #bigmusicweek and at www.rte.ie/bigmusicweek.
