Premieres of new films on classic American band Big Star, Russian refuseniks Pussy Riot and a special Metal Night are among the line-up of the second OneTwoOneTwo music film festival in Dublin this October.

The festival takes place at the city's Light House Cinema from October 3 to 6 and also features Mistaken For Strangers, a documentary about The National; Dave Chappelle’s Block Party and Sing Me The Songs That Say I Love You: A Concert For Kate McGarrigle.

Metal Night features a double-bill of one of the greatest metal bands of all time and the greatest joke metal band of all time with a screening of the no-holds-barred examination of a band in turmoil in Metallica documentary Some Kind Of Monster followed by the classic mockumentary (if you will) This Is Spinal Tap.

On Saturday, Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer will be screened followed by the Michel Gondry-directed Dave Chappelle’s Block Party, a celebration of music, comedy and community featuring Kanye West, Mos Def, The Fugees, Common, The Roots, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott and more.

On Sunday, the festival closes with two Irish premieres. Sing Me The Songs That Say I Love You: A Concert For Kate McGarrigle which captures the night the Wainwright family and a host of musicians gathered in New York to pay tribute to the late Kate McGarrigle.

The highlight for many will be the Irish premiere of one of the most anticipated music documentaries in recent years, Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me, a film about the great and hugely inspirational American band who never achieved the success they richly deserved.

All tickets are priced at €10 and €8 concession. There is a special offer of three films for €22.50. This offer does not apply to the opening screening of Mistaken For Strangers.
