The main organiser of Electric Picnic, Melvin Benn, has said he hopes to increase the festival's capacity as it saw the biggest crowd in its ten year history this weekend with 35,000 festival goers passing through the Stradbally Estate.

Speaking at the event, Mr Benn said the festival site could hold another 5,000 people and he hopes to enter negotiations with the local council and the Gardaí.

It comes as organisers last week signed a deal to host another ten years of Electric Picnic at Stradbally.

The festival finished up last night with a headline set from The Arctic Monkeys.
