Diana Ross's son Evan has been cast in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and Part 2.

The 25-year-old actor will play the role of Messalla, a member of a television crew, in the franchise's final two films.

The official Hunger Games account Tweeted: "It's official! Please welcome Evan Ross as Messalla to the cast of @TheHungerGames: Mockingjay Parts 1&2".

Recently announced to have joined the cast of the latest Hunger Games movies are Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer, who will play Cressida, and Stef Dawson, who takes on the role of Finnick Odair's love interest Annie Cresta.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and Part 2, which will be directed by Francis Lawrence, are set to be released on November 21 2014 and November 20, 15 respectively.

The next Hunger Games movie - Catching Fire - will be released in cinemas on November 22.
