Actress Helen Hunt has secured financing and her cast for her second directorial outing, Ride.
Her first directorial project was in 2007 with Then She Found Me.
Deadline reports that Hunt wrote the film, is producing and is also set to star with filming scheduled to get underway in Los Angeles on August 5th. Filming will later move to New York.
Also starring are Luke Wilson, Dexter’s David Zayas, Mike White and Brenton Thwaites.
Ride is the story of a 20-year-old student who moves from New York to California for the summer leaving behind his strong-willed editor mother (Hunt).
When she hears he is quitting his studies to take up surfing she follows him where she meets up with a surf teacher played by Wilson.
