Elizabeth Banks has joined the Brian Wilson biopic Love & Mercy.
The Hunger Games star will play the Beach Boy frontman's wife Melinda in the project, which was written by Oscar-nominee Oren Moverman (The Messengers).
The film will take an unconventional look at Wilson's life, concentrating on his career and the impact of fame on his mental health, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
John Cusack is expected to play Wilson, while Paul Giamatti and Paul Dano also feature on the cast.
Love & Mercy begins filming in August in Los Angeles.
Banks has also signed on to star in the indie film Little Accidents opposite Boyd Holbrook.
She will play a woman whose life spins out of control following a mining accident in her town which leaves 12 men dead, while her son remains missing.
Sara Colangelo will write and direct the project, which is an adaptation of her 2010 award-winning short film of the same name.
Banks will next be seen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
