Tennessee good ol' boys Kings of Leon will release their new album Mechnical Bull this September.

It's the follow up to the all-family band's 2010 album Come Around Sundown, which topped the chart in Ireland, and saw them ascend to even greater heights of stadium-rock hugeness.

Rolling Stone reports that the album will be released on September 24 and was recorded with longtime producer Angelo Petraglia in KoL's studio in Nashville.

Kings Of Leon bassist Jared Followill told NME last March that the band had finished recording sessions. "I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I'm amazed how youthful it sounds," he said. "It's like a mix of Youth & Young Manhood and Because Of The Times."

The band had been expected to premiere material from the new LP during their headline slot at the Governors Ball festival in New York last Friday, but their performance was cancelled due to severe weather conditions.
