Louis Walsh has said he is delighted Sharon Osbourne has returned to The X Factor.

Auditions for The X Factor 2014 kicked off in Glasgow, Scotland, yesterday (Jun 5) with judges Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne reporting for duty.

60-year-old Sharon, who was one of the original judges, is returning to the panel for the first time since 2007 to replace Tulisa Contostavlos.

Speaking to the talent show’s host Dermot O’Leary, Louis said: “I am glad she is back. I always thought there would be a chance.”

Not impressed with their firm friendship, Gary Barlow insisted on swapping seats with Louis during the interview so that he could cosy up to ‘Mrs O’. Gary said: “You two are pairing up and I want to sit with Mrs O.”

Nicole Scherzinger added: “Gary’s getting jealous!”

Speaking about what she will be looking for from the contestants Sharon said: “It’s not just about the voice. You can have the best voice in the world and the oldest saying is ‘they’ve got the perfect face for radio’. You’ve got to have the personality, the likeability.”
