Avril Lavigne has revealed that she is still working on her album.

The 28-year-old Sk8er Boi star unveiled her new single Here's to Never Growing Up earlier this week, but admitted that she hadn't planned on releasing the track so soon.

Speaking on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show, Lavigne said: "I've been working on this record for a year, so it's been quite a while. As soon as I played [producer LA Reid] the song, he wanted to put it out right away. So I'm actually still in the studio - I'm still making my record.

"I still have one more song left to write that I'm going to do by myself, because I love to do that. It's important for me. But it's just - it's all happened so fast, and I'm so excited.

"It's just about being young, having fun, being present, living in the moment, and that's what I love to do," says Lavigne, who is divorced from Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley and is now engaged to fellow Canadian rocker Chad Kroeger of Nickelback.

"I wanted to write something really fun, and kind of like a summer song, and I feel like we nailed it."
