Mrs Brown's Boys dominated UK comedy sales during 2012 with DVD sales for the anarchic sitcom hitting11th in the overall entertainment list to become the best-selling comedy release of the year.

Mrs Brown's Boys: Series One just missed the top 10, with sales of 913,145. Mrs Brown's Boys: Series Two came 27th on the overall list with sales of 670,956. Mrs Brown's Live Tour: Good Mourning had sales of 585,925, putting it at 24th in the overall entertainment rankings.

The video game Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was the best selling entertainment release of the year according to figures from the UK’s Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA).

Michael McIntyre's latest DVD Showtime was the top-ranking stand-up DVD In the ERA's rankings with sales of 579,011, putting it in 34th place.

The top-selling comedy movie in the list was Seth MacFarlane's Ted, which had sales of 1,188,295.

Britcom The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel came 12th with sales of 888,629.

Bridesmaids was 24th with sales of 710,185, while Rowan Atkinson spy spoof sequel Johnny English Reborn came 26th with sales of 694,651.

Universal's 3D digital animation Despicable Me hit sales of 549,111, putting it in 38th position on the list.
