Beyoncé has a street named after her in Bermuda.

The new walkway at the National Sports Centre was originally nicknamed "Beyonce Boulevard" by construction workers because it marks the spot where the 31-year-old singer made her entrance when Bermuda hosted the 2008 Music Festival.

Speaking to Royal Gazette, the site's facility manager Trevor Madeiros, said: "We had to tidy up the driveway for her to come through to perform — it was a construction site at the time. Somebody called it Beyoncé Boulevard and everybody started using it.

"So many people use the name when giving directions to visitors that it finally got its own sign. It’s nothing really official. It’s an internal thing that we put up ourselves."

Beyonce's UK and Irish tour for The Mrs Carter Show sold out 12 minutes after going on sale last Friday.
