Torvill and Dean have spoken about Dancing on Ice, voicing their fears that the show may not return for a ninth season.

The celebrity skating show is reportedly facing the axe due to falling ratings, and the dancing duo have revealed that they aren't sure it will survive.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, Christopher Dean said: "To be honest, we don't know if we will be back next year. We've not been told it's getting axed, so we hope it isn't.

"We are very hopeful we will be back for the ninth series next year and then the tenth the year after that.

"We still have a really good core audience which we've had from the beginning. As long as ITV want us we will continue.

"We were part of the creation of Dancing on Ice right from the beginning, so we are very invested in the show."
