Danny DeVito, who is currently in Dublin, is looking for an actress to play the lead role in a film he’s shooting in Ireland next year.
Speaking to RTÉ TEN's Taragh Loughrey-Grant, deVito spoke about the film, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle, which is based on a book by American author Avi: “This is a really good book. It’s a very radical book and it’s about a thirteen-year-old girl who takes charge, so that’s what I like.
“I’ve got two daughters and I always tell them... you can do anything you want, just go after it, if you really want it.”
However he is still looking for his leading lady: "I gotta find Charlotte Doyle, so we gotta look for her.
"Saoirse [Ronan] was gonna do it a few years ago but now she’s a young woman and I need a thirteen-year-old girl. Help!"
DeVito will attend the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival in Dublin tonight, where he will be presented with a Volta award for his contribution to film.
