Jennifer Lawrence has signed on for The Ends of the Earth.
The actress will reunite with her Silver Linings Playbook director David O Russell on the forthcoming film, which tells the apparently true story of oil tycoon Ernest Marland, who loses his empire after being caught in an affair.
Lawrence will play the lead in the new project, which has been written by Argo writer Chris Terrio, Deadline reports.
Producers Todd Black and Steve Tisch released a statement saying: "Jennifer was basically asked to play 4 personalities [in Silver Linings Playbook]... and did them all brilliantly. After seeing that performance we knew we had our anchor for Ends Of The Earth.
"Her dedication to the craft and all those who work with her is inspiring and if she is the future of our business we are certainly in good hands."
The Ends of the Earth will be Lawrence's third collaboration with Russell, as she has already signed on to work with the director and her Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper on a political drama.
Lawrence is nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook.
