Seth MacFarlane's latest comedy Dads has been green-lit by Fox.

The live action comedy show has been ordered straight to series by the network based on the strength of the pilot script alone, Deadline reports.

Family Guy creator MacFarlane has reunited with Ted co-writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley for the show.

The comedy is about two successful men in their thirties who find their lives thrown into chaos when their respective fathers - billed as "nightmare" parents - move in with them.

MacFarlane is set to host the 85th Annual Academy Awards next month.
