Claire Danes and her husband, British actor Hugh Dancy, have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy.
The Homeland star gave birth to Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy on Monday, December 17, her representative confirmed to People.
The couple, who married in 2009 in France, announced that they were expecting their first child over the summer.
Danes said ahead of the birth: "There's no way of anticipating what that's going to mean for us but we are very excited. We are going to love this person, I know that."
The actress's pregnancy was not worked into Homeland's second season, and 37-year-old Dancy credited the show for protecting his wife from press attention.
He explained: "It's fortunate that she's filming Homeland now in Charlotte, North Carolina, because tabloid culture can go a bit insane around actresses when they're pregnant.
"The fact that she's off in a city where nobody's that interested in actors is a really good thing."
Dancy will next be seen on NBC's Hannibal Lecter series Hannibal.
