Matt Damon has joined the cast of George Clooney’s World War II movie.

George Clooney is teaming up with his Ocean’s Eleven co-star Matt Damon once again after casting him in his next movie project, a film about World War II,

The Oscar-winning actor has co-written the script for The Monuments Man, which is about a group of art historians and curators who were picked by the U.S. government to retrieve masterpieces stolen from European museums by Nazi thieves.

The movie has an all star billing with Daniel Craig, Bill Murray and Cate Blanchett already attached to the project. Clooney will also star and direct the project.

Confirming recent rumours, Damon told E! News; "Yes, I will be in that movie!"

Clooney's film is based on the book The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History by Robert M. Edsel.
