Tulisa Contostavlos has admitted that while she enjoyed making her solo album, she missed working with her N-Dubz band mates Fazer and Dappy.

While she may have found making her debut solo album a “liberating” experience, X Factor judge Tulisa has admitted that she missed the support of her former band mates.

Speaking about the recording of The Female Boss Tulisa said: “It's exciting but nerve-wracking all at the same time, but I've been really enjoying the freedom to sing what I want, write what I want. But then another part of me misses the team work and going through the motions - whether it be up or down - with two other people.

''It's a lot easier in the studio without them but that's not to say it wasn't as creative or fun. I still miss the boys.''

The Young singer also revealed that the album is very personal and since she wrote 50% of the tracks, she feels a strong sense of pride when she sings them live.

She said: ''I wanted to put my own spin on it, it's gotta feel like you. There's a big difference to when you stand up and sing someone else's song, but when you've actually written the song you feel like you were a part of it and you're a lot more proud of it.''
