Coldplay are planning to take a three-year break from touring when they finish their current world tour.

The band's frontman Chris Martin made the announcement as they finished the Australian leg of their world tour in Brisbane on Wednesday.

He said: ''This is the last big show for three years or so. I don't want to stop.''

Speaking about their last record, 2011's Mylo Xyloto, the 35 year old promised fans the band's next album will be easier to pronounce.

Mylo Xyloto has sold more than eight million copies.
