Dakota Fanning has spoken out against the negative press that surrounded Kristen Stewart in the wake of her relationship drama.

Actress Dakota Fanning, who became firm friends with Kristen Stewart while starring in Twilight and The Runaways, has spoken out in support of the star in relation to her relationship with married director Rupert Sanders.

Fanning, who is on the cover of the latest issue of InStyle magazine, told the publication: "Everyone thinks they have the right to, you know, publicise the struggles and sadness and heartbreak and all of that. It's like, 'Why do you think you are the authority to judge people's experiences?'"

Speaking about her own relationships the Now is Good actress admitted she’s had one boyfriend and is currently single.

She said: "You know, I'm not the kind of girl or person who really wants boyfriends in my life. I'm also the kind of person... I'm very black and white in what I feel and I don't wanna be with someone that I don't foresee spending a long time with'"
