Tulisa Contostavlos is writing her first novel, it has been revealed.

The X Factor judge, who recently released her first autobiography Honest, will be basing her debut fiction piece of work on poeple she knows.

The singer and TV star explained: "I'm writing a novel. Let's say there are elements of the book based on real-life characters I know.

"It's definitely not 50 Shades of Grey. It's exciting for me. It's something that I wanted to do with the same publishers as my autobiography. I do a lot of reading. I like crime novels and my number one author is Martina Cole."

Contostavlos added that she would also like to further her career in acting.

She told The Daily Star: "I want to do more acting. It's fun to be someone else. A great start would be doing a Brit flick."
