Russell Brand is reportedly planning on inviting his ex-wife’s parents to celebrate his 10 years sobriety at a party later this month.

According to reports the former self-confessed drug addict will hold a soiree in Los Angeles and intends to fly in family and fellow patients from the rehab he attended in London, as well as Katy Perry’s parents.

Brand has apparently remained close with Keith and Mary since the superstar couple split last year.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: ''Russell plans to celebrate with all the people who have helped him over the years.

''His guest list will include people at the recovery centre he attended in London, close friends, family, and Katy's parents Keith and Mary Hudson.

''They were really good to Russell during his marriage to their daughter, even when things got messy towards the end.

''Keith still rings Russell every few weeks to check up on him.''
Russell has offered to pay for flights for his UK friends as he really wants them to celebrate this milestone with him.

The insider added: ''He'll pay for everyone's travel to the bash, which he wants to hold at his Los Angeles home to make sure everyone can make it. He knows it will be a lot of work because of the amount of people he's inviting from the UK.

''But Russell is never scared of a challenge and is determined to pull it off. It's his way of saying thank you to everyone who helped him get where he is today.''
