Alec Baldwin has admitted that he offered to take a pay cut to keep 30 Rock on the air.

The actor has explained that he is upset that the NBC comedy show, which was created by Tina Fey, will draw to a close after its current 13-episode run.

Baldwin stated that he even asked the network if they would consider reducing his salary and making another series.

Taking to his twitter page, he wrote: "I offered NBC to cut my pay 20% in order to have a full 7th and 8th seasons of 30 Rock. I realize times have changed.”

30 Rock will conclude with a special hour-long season finale.
