Zac Efron has admitted that he finds dating awkward and is often wary of people’s motives.

The Paperboy star hasn’t been in a serious relationship since parting ways from his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, Efron said: ''Dating is kind of hard. Like dinner or something like that. Like a forced awkward situation is very strange. Especially for me, for some reason. I like to go and do something adventurous. I like to go out and do some sort of crazy activity.''

Zac also revealed he can never be sure if people like him for him or if they are just interested in his fame.

He added: ''You know you always have to be careful, I guess, about that kind of thing.''

However, The Lucky One actor explained that there is one woman who impressed him recently.

Efron further pitched in: ''Nicole (Kidman) is so amazing to work with. She's also very improvisational. You never know what to expect. [The dancing scene in the movie] was supposed to be a very serious scene. It was a sort of an intense dramatic moment for me. So I was very prepared to give my all in a dramatic moment and before I knew it music starts to turn up around me and she kind of looks at me and says 'you want to dance?'

''And they're still rolling so I can't really say cut. And before I knew it we were improvising an entire dance in the rain. ... It's one of my favourite scenes in the movie. ...That is was one of the coolest things I've ever done. It is the day I think I became a man.''
