Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta have reunited to record a festive album set for release this Christmas.

They may have been singing about love, teenage angst and of course that infamous car - Grease Lightening – in the cult musical, but now, 34 years later, the starring actors who played Sandy and Danny have teamed up to release a festive album.

Newton-John and Travolta are releasing the charity album for causes close to both their hearts. Proceeds will be split between the Jett Travolta Foundation and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne.

Speaking of the collaboration, Newton-John said: “My desire was to make an intimate album, not something too ostentatious or showy.

“I wanted people to be able to play it around the house, or in the car, during the holidays, and make us part of your celebration.”

She told MusicFix: “It just fell into place. With our busy schedules, I don't know how we got it done.

“John and I have always connected. That’s never gone away. When we’re together, we have a good laugh and feel bonded to one another.

“We’ve been through some amazing experiences together.”
