Christina Aguilera is focusing on her "creative soul" while she departs momentarily from The Voice USA.

The 31-year-old singer is departing from the show for the upcoming third season. Fellow judge Cee Lo Green will also be taking a break from the singing competition.

Usher and Shakira will replace them for one season only, as Aguilera and Green have confirmed they will return in time for the fourth season.

"I think what makes the show really special and why people appreciate it is the four of us [Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Green and Aguilera] are artists," the singer said.

"And we have to go out there, and we have to experience our fans, do our shows, record our records and be artists ourselves so that we can be great coaches," she continued.

Aguilera has just released her lead single, Your Body, off her upcoming seventh studio album, entitled Lotus. The album is set to be released in mid-November.
