Simon Delaney has landed a role in a Hollywood movie alongside Vince Vaughn.

The Lusk man is set to play Vaughn’s brother in Starbuck, which is being described as one of the biggest comedies to be released next year, according to the Irish Independent.

Speaking to the newspaper, Delaney said: "I've come close to getting big roles before but finally I've landed something on a scale beyond my wildest dreams."

The 40-year-old Irish actor is said to have received the role by accident while in New York shooting a new film Can a Song Save Your Life by Bachelors Walk and Once Director John Carney.

Delaney will travel to the US to begin shooting the new film in October.
