Kate Walsh has said she would not rule out a return to her former role on Grey's Anatomy, now that she is finishing up her spin-off role.

The actress, who recently announced she will not return for another season of Private Practice, has told E! that if Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes wants her back, she would oblige.

"There's always that possibility" Walsh said. "It's really up to Shonda... I'm open to anything. I'm ready for my next chapter, but never close the door".

The actress continued her two-year role, playing Addison Montgomery, from the hospital drama in her lead role in the spin-off Private Practice for the past eight years.

Walsh can be seen in the upcoming film The Perks Of Being A Wallflower.
