Nicky Byrne is set to join BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing, it has been reported.
The former Westlife star has signed on to appear in the next season of the dancing show as a contestant.
He is said to be joining Girls Aloud member Kimberly Walsh, former supermodel Jerry Hall, British Olympians Steve Redgrave and Victoria Pendleton amd Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood, who are all said to have signed deals for the show.
The Irish Independent quotes a UK newspaper as saying: “Nicky's management think it will be great for him and he is really excited about it.
“He's done lots of dancing and loves to perform but he's never done anything like this before.”
Byrne previously expressed an interest in pursuing a career in primetime TV, saying: “Shiny floor, prime time, your Dermot O’Learys, Ryan Seacrests of this world – I do look at them with a bit of envy and think I’d love to do a job like that, presenting a big, big show."
The Strictly Come Dancing launch show airs on September 15 and the first live show is on October 5.
