The Gathering: Notre Dame - A Welcome Home concert in the 02 will be exclusively broadcast on RTÉ on Friday August 31 from 9.30pm.

Miriam O'Callaghan will host the Irish/American entertainment spectacular that will kick off the American Football season in Ireland.

The 90-minute Friday concert will combine a traditional Notre Dame pep rally with performances from some of Ireland's top musical talent including Brian Kennedy, Damien Dempsey, Eimear Quinn and The High Kings.

The Notre Dame Band and Folk Choir will perform and the night will also celebrate the football played by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny will welcome US travelling fans - estimated to be in the region of 35,000 - as well as launching The Gathering Ireland 2013 which aims to attract visitors to the country.

The concert will be broadcast on RTÉ One, RTÉ Radio 1 Extra and on RTÉ's Youtube channel.

Ticket sales on the night will be divided between seven Dublin charities: Friends of the Elderly (Bolton Street), Separated Children Education Service (Parnell Square), Aisling Project (Ballymun), Life Centre (Pearse Street), Foundations Project (Sean McDermott Street), Youth Horizons (Tallaght) and Forbairt Naíonraí Teoranta.

Saturday will see The Emerald Isle Classic played between Notre Dame and US Naval Academy in the Aviva Stadium.
