Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl paid tribute to Nirvana on the 20th anniversary of their Reading Festival performance.

Closing the three-day festival last night (August 26), Grohl also invited his mother on stage and got the crowd to sing happy birthday to her. "In 1992 when Nirvana played here, the last show we ever played in England, you sang happy birthday to my mom. Here's your chance." he said.

He also dedicated a song to Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic during their 26-song set.

The performance came at the end of their Wasting Light tour and Grohl told the crowd, "You guys realise we've got a lot of songs to play. It's the last show of the tour and it's the last show for a long time."
