Tim Robbins will return to directing with City of Lies, it has been reported.
The 53-year-old actor has signed a deal to direct the spy romance film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While Robbins is best known for his acting work, he helmed three feature films in the 1990s including the acclaimed Dead Man Walking in 1995 for which he garnered a Best Director Oscar nomination. Most recently, he directed a few episodes of HBO's New Orleans-set drama Treme.
City of Lies follows two spies who fall in love while on separate missions in Prague.
The script has been adapted from Arthur Phillips' short story Wenceslas Square by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeeley.
