Hard Working Class Heroes, Ireland’s annual showcase and conference for new music, takes place in Dublin this October 4 to 6 and the organisers are looking for Irish artists and bands to play the event.

HWCH celebrates its 10th birthday this year and has become a much-respected music industry weekend. This year bands will play at The Button Factory, The Grand Social, The Mercantile, Meeting House Square, Twisted Pepper and The Workman’s Club over the three days.

Festival organisers are calling on Ireland’s musicians to apply for a slot to play at the event. Applications will be through the Breaking Tunes site (log on to www.hwch.net, going live at 6pm this evening and click on the “BANDS APPLY HERE” button).

Closing date for applications is July 26. The judging panel for applications will be made up of music industry professionals from around the globe as well as international festival programmers.

Ireland’s photographers are also being called on to submit their finest music related shots for a chance to feature in a HWCH Photographers Exhibition. Photographers’ applications will also be via www.hwch.net and click on the “PHOTOGRAPHERS APPLY HERE” and follow the instructions.

The HWCH conference, mentor sessions and band-tips events will also return this year and there will be an exhibition of the past ten years of artwork and we will also be introducing an ideas wall where we will seek your advice on the next ten years.
